Hofstede Bouwlust
Favourably situated between Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.
For centuries the farm was the most important farm for many miles around.
Now, it is a magnificent country house, owned by the Verduyn family since
1672.
Built in 1640 on the ruins of a mid 16th century building. After a major
restoration, completed in 2005 Hofstede Bouwlust is again a very intriguing
and charming cultural monument, now saved for the generations to come.
The very quiet rural location belies the close proximity of cities such as
Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam and Utrecht. Gouda, Oudewater and
Schoonhoven are just 5 to 10 minutes away. We suggest you visit Dordrecht by
river transport.
The Krimpenerwaard is a beautiful polder with excellent possibilities for walking
and cycling (bicycles are available and you will find maps in your room).
Culture and nature lovers will enjoy the well kept Krimpenerwaard. You will love
our garden and the fantastic views.
